The mission of Teaching Hands Learning Academy Foundation is to ”provide educational assistance, tutoring, and SOL remediation to students to promote and enhance academic excellence; and to enable students to develop reading, math, and life skills that will help them grow and develop into functional citizens in a changing society.”
The vision is to “develop academic excellence and enhance life skills in students from ALL socioeconomic areas.
In the “masterful hands” of our teachers and tutors, your child will receive pre-test evaluations to ascertain their level of learning and where they are. That test data will be used to compile a student learning plan for him / her. The teacher and/or tutor will use specific materials to provide foundational skills, while helping to give advanced guidance and teaching to your child that will take them to another level of learning.
Student Learning Plans:
* Will provide a pretest assessment, which will guide and help the teachers/tutors gauge where the child is academically, and a post-test assessment at the end of all sessions to measure their range of growth.
* A wide-range of hands-on materials, activities, games, and online study will be used to tap into all modalities of learning.
* We also collaborate with you and your child's school to ensure continuity between school, home, and tutoring.
Our teachers and tutors work diligently to make each student's “light bulb” go off.
